Tuesday night in the adult's class, we started off with the Kamae Kata, holding each kamae deeply for extended periods of time. Then we performed the Sanshin as a solo kata, then looked at the movements of each kata in reference to using a Tachi, then partnered up and played with each kata in various, adapted ways. This culminated with a more free form practice, using the San Shin to adapt to the uke's changes as the uke was allowed to respond defensively to the tori's attacks. Then we did some Takagi Yoshin Ryu Jutaijutsu (jujutsu) and looked at the "why?" behind one of the waza to lead to the "how."
